Implementation Timeline & Expectations
  • The implementation of Canvas will address the instant need for digital learning while constructing an ecosystem where students, parents, and teachers can thrive. The implementation process and strategy include communication, preparation (training) for deployment and administration, timelines for gradebook and Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) integrations, and districtwide adoption. The main goal of the implementation plan is to increase the speed of adoption, optimize utilization, and improve the student learning experience. In addition, the implementation will move district personnel, students, and parents from product awareness to instructional best practices.

Beginning with the 2022-23 school year, all high school and Innovation 6-12 campuses will be required to use Canvas.  Elementary and middle school campuses will continue with the soft rollout and have the option to use Canvas or Google Classroom during the 2022-2023 school year.  These campuses will be required to transition to Canvas for the 2023-2024 school year.
