• Garden Explorers:  The DMS Garden Explorers is an on-campus program that is available to students, faculty and families.  The program’s goal is to help foster a love of the outdoors, an appreciation of healthy food and what it takes to grow it (it does not just appear at the supermarkets).

The Garden program (Green Thumb Club) meets bi-monthly after school, with the exception of Kindergarten & TAP classes who meet during the school day.

Kindergarten & TAP classes work in the Courtyard Garden located outside the elementary building. The students work in raised veggie beds, trellis house for vining veggies, butterfly and pollinator garden and learn about various native and perennial plants.

Grades 1-8 grow vegetables in the eight raised garden beds near the playground and learn about native plants for pollinators in the butterfly garden behind the greenhouse.  Fun fact:  DMS is a Monarch Waystation.

Stay tuned for an exciting project in the works at our beautifully bright garden troughs!
