I am honored to be joining South Hi Mount Elementary as your counselor.  I hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Montana in Missoula.  I took the non-tradition path to teaching, with my background in science leading to teaching science to students from fourth grade to high school, even serving as an Agricultural Science teacher and FFA sponsor.  I so enjoyed the process and results from the social and emotional learning classes taught to my students that I decided to pursue counseling.  My Master’s in Education degree was earned through Angelo State University.  Having come from a background in sales, I have found my home in education and 2022 marks my tenth year.

My son lives in Seattle and my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson in Stephenville.  The role of grandma to a soon to be first grader is such a joy.  I love watching him learn and grow.  My hobbies and interests include spending time with my three horses, watching documentaries and sports, knitting, and solving logic puzzles.  I am a die-hard University of Montana Grizzlies fan and have been adopted into Sooner Nation.
