    Mrs. Cole

    Mrs. Latres Cole became the principal of Sunrise-McMillan Elementary in August of 2012.

    Mrs. Cole started her career in education in 1997 as a 3rd grade teacher. She taught ESL and Gifted and Talented students for 6 years. After being awarded Outstanding Teacher of the Year in 2003, she was promoted to an Instructional Specialist.

    In May 2007, Mrs. Cole received her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. In 2008, she became an Assistant Principal at Lowery Road Elementary School, and in August 2011, at Maude I. Logan Elementary.

    She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the movies, traveling, and playing racquetball.

    Ms. Stubbs was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, where she received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the Home of the Tigers, Jackson State University. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Education Leadership from Lamar University. Ms. Stubbs has a love for literacy and has spent her educational career working in middle school grades six through eight as well as serving as an instructional coach! Ms. Stubbs' greatest compassion and commitment are to ensuring students, families, and teachers receive support to continue to excel toward academic excellence. 

    Ms.Stubbs enjoys spending time with her two children, decorating, and traveling with family and friends. Ms. April Stubbs, Sunrise AP
