Ms. Meggan Hinds

Meggan Hinds received her Bachelor of Music Education and Teaching Certificate from the University of Oklahoma. She conducted her student teaching at Haltom High School and Haltom Middle School, during which time she helped take the marching band to State Marching Band Contest.

While at OU she played French horn for the Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Horn Ensemble. She also played the mellophone for the Sooner Showmen Basketball Band and the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band. Ms. Hinds was a member of the Alpha Iota Chapter of the Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for 3 years, serving as the Vice President of Ritual and President for her last 2 years.

In May of 2014 she was honored by the Weitzenhoffer School of Music with the Stephen J. Paul Memorial Award and the Alice and Albert Kilpatrick Award, both for her collegiate work in Music Education.

Ms. Hinds has 13 years of playing experience on the French horn and 5 years of professional experience including teaching private lessons, high school marching band, and the New Horizons Community Band ensemble. She is currently a member of Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.

Outside of teaching Ms. Hinds enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the gym, watching and playing sports, training and participating in races, and playing with her puppy named Ellie.
